Pumpkins, Piglets and Half Term Fun

Pigs in pumpkins - click for larger imageClick to enlarge image - this link launches a pop-up window October Half Term is fast approaching and Pennywell has lots of fun planned to make the week special for all the family. There’s nothing dark or spooky here as we focus on the treats rather than the tricks and celebrate Jollyween, Pennywell’s upbeat alternative to Halloween. Every child will have the opportunity to create a ‘Happy Pumpkin Face’ to take home with pumpkin carving taking place throughout the day. All your favourite Pennywell activities like ferret racing, goat milking and deer feeding will carry on in addition to special seasonal activities like pumpkin mask making, applebobbing and seed planting. It all adds up to a day of fun, whatever the weather.Additional entertainment will be provided by Billy Wiz on 26th and 28th Oct with his magic tricks and balloon modeling, while comedy juggling and great entertainment courtesy of Ben Cornish will be on 27th Oct. Nutty Noah will be bringing his own unique brand of nuttiness on 29th and 30th Oct, with Professor Malcolm Jephcott performing on 31st. There will also be two falconry displays every day either outside or in the Pennywell theatre depending on the weather. October is the month when our thoughts should be turning to what help we can give our garden birds to see them through the winter. The RSPB will be on hand on 27th October to show you how to make your own fat balls and to give useful advice on feeding garden birds and providing them with shelter. You will, weather permitting, be able to look through telescopes at feeding birds and also have a chance to win one of the RSPB Singing Birds. All the Pennywell animals will be hoping for their last cuddle of the season and there are plenty of the world famous Pennywell Miniature Piglets to get acquainted with. Tickets for the Young Farmers Quad Bikes are included for all children over six and tickets for the Run Rabbit Go Carts are included for all children over eight. All the family will be given tickets to ride on the Rainbow Railway.

The really great news is that everything is included in the admission price.

See you there!
